DSE 考生都知道，英文卷 Paper 2 的 Part A，通常要寫一篇悶到抽筋的應用文。不少學生只會 reword 試題提供的資料就了事，但其實再悶的寫作試題，也不代表沒創作空間。

下面這條題目來自2021年的 DSE English 試卷 ，我給它提供了兩個回答。第一個回答雖沒文法上的錯誤，但內容毫無生氣。在第二個回答，我嘗試用想像力去做，效果好很多。我做學生那個年代，有創意的回答是能拿高分的，但隨着香港的教育系統越來越受中共控制，說不定有一天越有創意的回答越會得到低分，因共產政權懼怕有獨立思考的人。

 

You are helping your school organise the annual school fair. You have been asked to make an announcement about the event during the morning assembly.

Use the poster below to help you write your announcement. In your announcement:

• Introduce the event.
• Describe some of the activities that will take place.
• Let students know how they can help out.

悶到抽筋版本

Principal, teachers and fellow schoolmates, Good Morning. I am Chris Wong from Class 4A.

Hong Kong Banyan School’s 2021 Annual School Fair will take place on 29 May 2021 from 12 – 4 pm. During this time, food stalls and games will be available. Moreover, student performances will be held in the hall at 3 pm; a $500 cash prize will be given to the student who has been voted Performer of the Year.

Paintings by our students will be displayed along the corridors. The Arts and Crafts department will offer DIY art projects in the library. Be sure to stop by.

This year’s Alumni Football Match will be held in the gym at 2 pm. Those interested in joining should visit the general office in person to apply.

有創意版本

We all know Banyan School alumni Keung To can capture the hearts of female fans old enough to be his mum, but how would he fare on the football field?

We are lucky enough to have the chance to find out soon. At this year’s Annual School Fair, be prepared to meet him as a player at the Alumni Football Match. As if this weren’t exciting enough, he has also agreed to conduct the school band, which will be performing on an AI-powered stage designed by the Engineering Club.

What’s more, surplus from the 2019-2020 school budget has made it possible for the school to hire Four Seasons to do the catering. So, make sure you come with an empty belly, so that you can munch on lobster rolls and foie gras to your heart’s content.

This year’s Arts and Craft stands will also offer something different. You can get your nails done or your face painted by Art Club members. Last year’s popular rock-climbing game will make a reappearance. This time round, the wall will be a good 10 meters taller, so you can expect to experience some serious Alex Honnold vibes.
